What Is a Mobile Notary/Signing Agent?
A mobile notary/signing agent travels from one location to perform notarial acts. Traveling notaries/signing agents can come to your home, office, or any other place that works for you. They have the same duties as the notaries who work from the notary's office. A traveling notary/signing agent has to:

  • Verify the identity of the signers
  • Ensure there’s no fraud
  • Check if the parties are signing the contract of their own free will
  • Determine if the signing parties are familiar with what they’re signing
  • Witness the signing of the contract
  • Complete notary certificates
  • Mark the document with the notary stamp and signature
  • Administer oaths, jurats, and acknowledgments
  • Officiate weddings

While mobile notaries/signing agents usually get hired for large real estate transactions, they can notarize any type of document.
